Two Stones - Two Witnesses

Joshua ends his leadership of the Israelites with a covenant renewal ceremony that includes the setting up a stone of witness. Though inanimate, it is said to have seen and heard all that had transpired amongst them. It therefore bears witness against them. The need to be faithful to God's word and plans are just as relevant for us today. In fact, there is a stone in NYC that bears witness against us should we stray from the Gospel.
