The Lord's Supper: Remember and Believe

The Apostle Paul tells the Corinthian believers that when they partake of the Lord's
Supper they "proclaim the Lord's death until He comes." The 35 th Article of the Belgic
Confession tells us in more detail what that "proclamation" entails. There we learn that
two primary aspects are involved whenever we "proclaim the Lord's death" by way of
Holy Communion: we remember and we believe.

1. We remember spiritually what Christ has done for us.

2. We believe personally what Christ has done for us.
