Mary's Remembrance of God's Mercy

Mary's Song, also called the Magnificat, is a song of Remembrance. Mary's memory is called upon to consider God's very recent blessings to her in making of her, the mother of the Messiah, but also more distant blessings to her own soul in salvation. Furthermore, she remembers what the Lord has ever done for His people: In remembrance of His mercy.
