Perseverance as a Proof of Salvation

Perseverance as a doctrine does not teach that people are saved by their works. It teaches that they work because they are saved. Perseverance is the fruit of salvation, not the root of it. It's the effect, rather than cause. While we persevere we must remember that it is God's work in us; and not our own work.
