The LORD alone is God; there is no other

In the Old Testament, God had specific ways that his people were to worship him. In Leviticus 17 today we see that there was a specific place to bring sacrifices to the LORD. The Israelites were commanded to stop sacrificing to their god's in all of the places they desired, but to sacrifice to the only one true God in the way that he commanded. How does this apply to us today? Are we commanded to worship God in a specific way? Do we still "sacrifice" or "worship" idols as the Israelites did?
