Walking Calmly Through the Deep Waters and Fires of Life

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour...." —Isaiah 43:2-3

The Lord assures His people that they will go through deep waters and fiery trials. It is "when thou passest through" not "if". But He also promises them that they will, without fail, pass through the trouble and not be destroyed by it. The secret of how the believer can walk calmly through it all and not be overwhelmed with fear and worry is also found in this wonderful text from Isaiah.
