The Prophet of God's Wrath

The Prophet Zephaniah expounds an unpopular theme: the wrath of God. In this section of the Prophet's book, he describes the coming Day of the Lord and its attendant woes. That Day found its historical application in God's judgment upon Judah via the Babylonians. The Prophet exhorts his hearers to seek the Lord, to seek righteousness, and to seek humility. He then highlights God's coming wrath upon the nations surrounding Judah.
