Are You Competent to Counsel Others?

Do you have what you need to help others to grow in grace, wisdom, and the knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ? In Romans 15:14, Paul is drawing closer to the end of his letter, but before concluding he wants to assure his readers that he did not write to them because he thought they were deficient in either Christian character or in their knowledge of biblical truth. In fact, the opposite is true. While the process of spiritual growth, change and sanctification is ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit, he uses people as holy instruments to help other people. In this message, we want to answer the questions Who is competent? What are you competent to do? And what do you have that qualifies you to help others?
