Understanding Bible Prophecy (Intro) Part 1

Our subject is Bible prophecy. It is among the most beautiful of doctrines, but sadly it is being avoided more and more today. By and large the Church has fallen silent on this beautiful subject. Every Christian should have some understanding of what lies before us. Many people who do not understand prophecy are afraid of this doctrine, but when it is once understood, it is not scary, but rather it is comforting.

In this first session we will be looking at where we are today in light of all that is happening in our world. We have recently experienced covid and now we have the war in Ukraine and in Israel. Today we have wokeness and immorality is skyrocketing. Our children are being ruined sexually long before they should even be thinking about such things. We have drag queens and even drag queen pastors! A pastor asked recently, "Of all the dangerous places to be alive today, where is the most dangerous place to be alive." Answer? The womb. Today way over a million babies are sacrificed each year. And as we look ahead, we wonder what this year will bring.

Having looked at the present, we will then begin to look at the important preliminary matters we need to understand in order to understand Bible prophecy. We will begin to look at the major events that have happened in the past to get some perspective of where we are today and we begin with the greatest event of all, creation. Then we will move on to the time of the flood and move through events and dates until the close of the OT.
