What is Faith and Why is Faith the Only Way We Can Know God?

The sermon today will be unusual because it is not an exposition of a specific part of the Bible. Instead, we are going to read Hebrews 11:1 and use that verse as a starting point to try to answer two questions: What is faith? and Why is faith the only way we can know God? While we will certainly be looking at some parts of the Bible, most of our study today will consist of discussing the work of a few theologians who have done quite a bit of writing on this topic of faith. So, the message today is really a topical message focused on answering these two questions about faith, in order to give us a deeper and more profound understanding of faith and why it is the only way we can know God.
