Our Self-Examination Before Christ

Throughout the life of Christ, He suffered many things, before His public and overt sufferings began. We see His deep grief revealed in the garden of Gethsemane, which was immediately followed by His betrayal and arrest. This betrayal by Judas doubtless added to His grief, and itself caused a grievous, but temporary desertion by the rest of His disciples. But prior to all of this, and in stark contrast to desertion, we see Christ together with His disciples, eating the Passover meal. A highpoint of fellowship together, as they sit with Christ at the table. Let us learn some lessons from these historical occurrences, as we come to the Lord's Table:
