Patient prayer

In this parable, Christ states his intention: to teach us always to pray and not to lose heart. Then he offers an illustration of an unjust judge who finally gives in to the pleas of a troubled widow. Then he makes an application: God is not like the unjust judge, and is poised to avenge his saints at the right moment. Finally, he asks a question: when he, the Son of Man, returns, will he find this kind of persistent, patient faith on the earth? Will he find it in our hearts?
