Prayerful Participation

100 ( 68 | 32 )

It should come as no surprise to us that this letter to the Hebrews, so full of encouragement to draw near to God, ends with a call to worship. It's in this context of 'acceptable worship' that the letter concludes with the matter of prayer– a call to pray, and a prayer for the Hebrews themselves. How else could we ever fathom doing anything 'pleasing in his sight'? Only through our Lord Jesus. And through him, only with that which the 'God of peace' equips us with, so that we may do his will.
We have been called to participate with our Great High Priest in nothing less than the eternal matters of his unshakable kingdom. And, in his Son, God gives us all we need to fulfil such a calling, as he works in us that which is pleasing in his sight. What a joy and privilege this is.
Please pray that the God of peace... might equip us with everything good that we may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ.
