The protection of wisdom

Wisdom is powerful and will bring us peace and protection. We need wisdom to protect us from hurt. Here David at first used wisdom in protecting this man's stuff but when he was rebuked by that same man David forgot his wisdom. Fortunately the man's wife used her wisdom. She knew David would one day be in charge and that he won't want then to have a guilty conscience over this event. Do we need wisdom to deal with somebody who has hurt us?
