Exposition of Solomon Lesson 1

A verse by verse exposition of the Song of Solomon 1:1 to 2:3. Various interpretive approaches to the book are addressed and the emphasis is placed on understanding the Song of Solomon as a love song with similar themes to Egyptian love poetry from the same general time period as Solomon. The Song is not interpreted as an allegory, but the importance of reading it as poetry with figures of speech is emphasized. The author is viewed as Solomon.
