- Jesus was the greatest prayer worrier in all history. “Not my will, but thine, be done. 1. Context of the Prayer. Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane. We need to think of what he has done for us and pray daily “Lord let your will be done”. When we got through storms and valleys the best thing we can do it pray. 2. The constraint the necessity of this prayer. If it was a priority for Jesus Christ it should be a high priority for us. 3. Character of this prayer, it wasn’t elegance of words. Not the volume of prayer. Not the amount of words. It’s the condition of our hearts that gets his attention. A) A passionate heart. “He prayed more earnestly.” B) Came from a pure heart. C) Prostrate heart, fall down in submission to “Not my will but Thine be done”. Jesus submissive heart is what secured our salvation.
