GOD'S TWO-FOLD REVELATION IN THE INTRODUCTION OF HIS HOLY LAW

I. God is revealing to us in His Law that He is a holy God

A. In those days “religion” was common but “holiness” was rare
B. Therefore as God is to formalize the relationship, He needs to reveal Himself as holy
C. What is your impression of God's holiness? (Compare Is. 6:1-3)

II. I am the LORD your God

A. This ‘your' emphasizes a relationship God has established with each of us

1. there is the relationship of Creator – creature
2. there is the relationship of LORD (Jehovah) – visible church member
3. there is the relationship of the LORD as Redeemer – redeemed

Closing Truths: Hath a nation changed their gods which are yet no gods? But
my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
What iniquity have your fathers found in Me, that they are gone far from me, and walked after vanity and are become vain? (Jer. 2:5, 11)
