Listen to the Son

Jesus mentioned in the first verse of chapter nine that some standing there would not taste death before seeing the kingdom come with power. Verse two begins the description of one of the fulfillments of this prophecy. Jesus' true identity as "very God" was briefly revealed to three disciples. The glory of Christ was evident and the authority given Him by the Father was affirmed. This event spurs on our understanding of Jesus' identity and our understanding of how God is changing His church to reflect the Son's glory.
