Advancing Christ's Kingdom

In this passage, Matthew's central theme has now come full circle. He begins this book by saying, "The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David." The king has come. He has received his authority by conquering his enemies, and now Christ's kingdom must be advanced throughout the world.
