God's Perfect World

Last week we learned that Jesus promised paradise to the dying thief who prayed to enter the Lord's kingdom, or heaven. You must know that there is no paradise in this earth, because we live in a broken world filled with sorrows, sickness and death. But the world that God made at first where Adam and Eve lived was a perfect paradise.

When God had created the world in six days he announced that it was "very good". There were no problems in the world when Adam Even were first created. There was no need for doctors to heal and no need for police men to settle fighting people. Nor was there any need for preachers, because the newly created earth declared the glory of God.
We see this in Psalm 19:1, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." The beautiful world that God has created is something like a mirror. If you look into a "mirror" it doesn't change anything, it lets you see things in its reflection.
The chief purpose of God creating the heavens and the earth, then, was to show forth His own glory.
The tall leafy trees, the blue skies, the green lush grass and shrubs filled the earth from top to bottom along with birds, fish, animals of so many kinds as well as Adam and Eve made God the Creator of all things look wise and powerful. God was pleased with His work and enjoyed the praises of all His own work.
Creation did not add to God's glory, for God is unchangeable. Creation became a showpiece to advertise the wisdom of God and power of God. Who could create such a beautiful world where everything worked so perfectly? Only an all wise and an all powerful God could do that.
