God's Fever... a Troubling Spirit

God's Sounding the Alarms...

A troubling spirit FROM the Lord is an INDICATOR of a wayward heart.

Principles gleaned from, The Saul Syndrome (Pre-Revival Conference Material), and shared with the congregation gathered at Briggs Chapel on Sunday November 5, 2017. The Saul Syndrome is a character study of King Saul and 16 Indicators of a wayward and backslidden heart.

Much of what I will share in this message is an introduction to what I teach when I lead a Saul Syndrome Conference. The first indicator is the distressing spirit that God gives in His chastening love for us when we've taken our eyes off of Him and living for ourselves. Hebrews (chapter 12) refers to it as a weary and downcast spirit.

The question is "why are you weary, you have not shed blood (like Jesus) to strive against sin in your own lives, much less anyone else's, you have absolutely NO reason to be weary... moreover you have forgotten that God chastens those that He loves.

The weariness is given to reveal that we're looking to ourselves and our circumstances and we've taken our eyes off of Jesus. Which also reveals we're not running our race and have been distracted with emptiness and worthlessness. This is same type of troubling spirit that came on Saul. Yet, when we, like Saul, are around Godly people, with a fresh anointing upon them (like David, when he played for Saul) we seemed refresh or revived. But soon as we go from their presence we begin to drift downward toward discouraged again. That's an indicator of a wayward and backslidden heart. It is very similar to an alarm like fever in the body to let us know something is off...
