Why Don't You Fast?

Jesus is interrogated. Why don't your disciples fast? The Pharisees didn't really want an answer. They wanted to find fault. The Pharisees looking to find fault with Jesus. He was not following in their practices. They were jealous – of his popularity, of the crowds.

But, if you are in Christ you are a new creation – not an old wineskin. The old things have passed away. They are not patched up. The new wine is in a new wineskin.
In this we rejoice. We don’t grumble, murmur, nitpick, or accuse. We are united – always with the bridegroom who sought us out and brought us home.

We are his and He is ours. Let us rejoice!
