Bringing Back The Banished

David's son Absalom had fled after killing his brother, Amnon. He was in exile in Geshur for three years. David was caught in a dilemma concerning Absalom--the conflicting demand of justice vs love. We may speak of God in the same way. God's justice demands that He punish sinners, but His love (mercy) desires to forgive them. The cross of Jesus was God's way of satisfying both His justice and His love.
