David's Descent Into Sin And Deception

31

This chapter brings us to David's blackest moment, his adultery with Bathsheba and his murder of Uriah. There are, however, an abundance of lessons and applications for us to draw from this sorry affair.
1-A low spiritual condition
2-The temptation and the sin
3-The cover-up
4-Lessons for us:
--Be careful about listening to what our minds tell us about what we deserve.
--We never reach a point in this life where we are through with sin.
--The best safeguard against sin is to keep our hearts hot after God.
--Men are to guard what they see, and women are to guard what they show.
--There is no such thing as hidden sin.
--Evil acts always lead to evil consequences.
--God's law is the standard for our behavior, and we are to obey it no matter what we feel and no matter what the cost.
