To Judge or Not To Judge

This message considers further Paul's instruction about judging in 4:1-5. Many Christians find themselves confused and unsure about the Bible's position on judging others and their responsibility in light of it. For some, Paul's instruction in this epistle only increases the confusion because he appears to contradict himself in conjoining contexts (cf. 4:5 with 5:12). Paul, however, found his instruction neither confusing nor inconsistent, evident in the fact that he felt no need to elaborate further. He obviously believed the Corinthians would understand exactly what he meant, even if contemporary readers find themselves at a loss.
