The Loss of a Loved One

416

We all either have or will experience the loss of a person we have known in a close way. It may be a loved one, a family member, a friend, a coworker or a neighbor. It may be sudden, tragic, senseless or unelplained.

You may have loved this person. You did things together. You loved God together and now they are gone. Life will never be the same.

It may be someone who didn't love you. It may be someone who treated you in an ill manner and created feelings of fear or hatred in you. It may be someone who is not a believer in the salvation that comes through Christ.

Grieving is biblical as shown by Jesus and David. It is good for your soul to release and express different thoughts and feelings (Psalm 42). It enables you to receive from God and others.

Grieving is unique for every person, dependent on your relationship wiht that person, your personality, family background, culture and spiritual beliefs. Grieving is a process taht takes time.

Grieving is a time to draw near to God, your heavenly Father. Become familiar with the Psalms to find the balm of God's comforting words for your soul.
