Praying with great expectation

Many of us confess that we pray, but how often are our prayers simply "casual prayers"? Prayers of habit, or simply out of need for something. How often do we pray with great expectation and devotion to God? Praying with a desire for God to seriously examine our hearts and the true condition of our soul? Praying with a true poverty of spirit in hopes of knowing something more of His all sufficient grace and strength. Praying with a deep desire and longing to have communion and fellowship with God?
These questions and more we should always be asking ourselves when we enter into our closets to pray to our Father which is in heaven.The Psalmist shows us how out of poverty of spirit he comes to know personally the boldness of approaching the throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace in his time of need.
