The Principle of Christian Liberty
Series Romans
71
In these verses Paul begins to expound the principle of how brothers in Christ are to relate to one another in love despite having different limitations or liberties over things that are things indifferent. The weak brother, with his greater limitations, is not to begrudge his stronger brother for the use of his liberties. But the stronger brother, with his greater liberties, is not to despise his weaker brother for his limitations. The law of love is far higher than the law of liberty, and ultimately our love for one another is the true test of our spiritual maturity.
