Behold the Man!

Pilate says to the Jews concerning the suffering and humiliated Jesus, "Behold the man!" But his words must be understood as God's words to us as we are called to behold him as the lamb of God being offered up for the sins of the world, and not just a man, but the Son of God afflicted for our transgressions.
