Steadfastness in Times of Adversity

1,059

The trials do not come into Job's life because of personal sins. Job needed less correction than any other believer on earth at the time. "...Have you considered My servant Job, for there is no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil." Job 1:8 Job's suffering, patience and endurance is pointed out in the New Testament, James 5:10. Job's life testifies to his steadfastness to God even during greatest trials of life, though Job did not understand the reasons for what was happening to him. We are reminded that God is sovereign " '...The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away, Blessed be the Name of the LORD.' Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God." Job 1:21-22.

Satan is in action in the first two chapters of Job and then is not seen again in the book. Material from other books in Bible are brought in to give us a more detailed picture of Satan and demons.
