A Sanctifying Discipline

If Barnabas is a positive example of a great church, the story of Ananias and Sapphira provides a sharp contrast. They, too, sell a piece of property, pledging the proceeds to needy believers. But they hold back part of the proceeds, and a terrible judgment follows, resulting in their deaths.
