The first recorded prayer of the Epistle is in chapter 1:15-23 where the Apostle prays for their spiritual enlightenment. Now he prays for their spiritual empowerment. This prayer is one of the most majestic in the New Testament. A.T. Robertson comments, "Nowhere does Paul sound such depths of spiritual emotion or rise to such heights of spiritual passion as here. The whole seems to be colored with the "riches of His glory."
