You Must Come and See

Remember this thought. It will ground you when everything seems to be so unstable.

God has, does and will IMPOSE His will — as He chooses.

"So the king did not listen to the wisest counsel — and neglected the consent of the people — for the turn of the events were all of God — the Lord was fulfilling His word..." (1 Kings 12:15 ; 2 Chronicles 10:15)

I'm not going to cover the entire storyline, you'll need to read about yourself. And if you're not interested, the slightest bit, my insights most likely want interest you either.

Logic and reason would say to Solomon's boy... "Listen to the older, wiser, more experienced elders. Pay attention to the cry for peace, coming from both sides of the people." Yet God had another plan... a plan altogether different than what logic and reason could possibly conceive.

Why did this division happen? Why was this totally out of the hands of these two kings? The pivotal point of the nation didn't hinge on them, it pivoted with King Solomon's wisdom or folly. Take a minute or two and read about in 1 Kings 11.

And we, like Solomon, BUILD what we BELIEVE in (1 Kings 11:7-14). And like our tongues confess the treasures of our trust, our hearts hurry after the things we hold up and honor. The horror and consequences for the divided kingdoms were only just beginning.

Why do I bring this out? Because we're all like Solomon in some degree... we're building what we believe and hurrying after the things will long to honor. Solomon loved wrong, though it seemed right to him, it was all but right. Boy, what a mess he would create.

What are you building? What do you hurry after? It's says...
