Set Free from Law's Curse

Freedom is something we take for granted in this country. But there are those throughout the world who would give their life's savings or even risk their lives in order to be free today. But while we enjoy freedom in this country, many are still in bondage-- not necessarily physical bondage but rather spiritual bondage. They are in bondage to their sin for we are all born as sinners and we choose to sin. In order to free themselves from their sin, many try to do it on their own through keeping the Ten Commandments or living according to the golden rule. But trying to work one's way into God's favor does not work. God never intended his law to liberate. Rather His law condemns for none of us are able to perfectly keep the law. The law brings a curse or condemnation. Our only hope for deliverance is through Jesus Christ who has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming accursed by God! By His substitutionary death on the cross, as our sins were laid on Him and He died in our place, he paid the price for our redemption and freedom! And when we trust in Him for our salvation, we are not only delivered from the curse of the law, but we also enter into the blessings of Abraham and receive the promised Holy Spirit by faith! We are free, but not totally free for we've been bought with a price and now belong to Jesus Christ! We are therefore to live for Him!
