The Workings Of A Happy Heart

After David learns that his son Solomon will build the temple and that the Messiah will come from his descendants, David "went in and sat before the Lord" (v.18). The prayer of David teaches us several lessons:
1-We should learn to reflect seriously on the goodness of God toward us and practice enjoyment of it.
2-We should not merely reflect on God's blessings but should verbally thank Him for them.
3-We should petition God along the lines of what He has promised to do.
4-We should remember that the glory of God is to be our motive in everything we say and do.
