Trust and Obey

130 ( 75 | 55 )

We are to be taught the things of God so that we can teach it to the next generation and that generation should teach it to their generation and so on. We must recognize who God is and how He is patience with people who are wicked. When we know the Lord, our hearts overflow with amazement with what He as done for us. Here are two questions that the Puritans would often ask: 1) What has the Lord done for you? 2) What has the Lord done through you? We will do well to remember these and give thoughtful answers to them.

When Jesus saves you, you are not just forgiven, you start on a journey. If we really put our trust in God, everything is going to be okay. Do we love the Father or do we want to keep Him at a distance? If we trust in our planning and our hard work, we will not make it. It is God's grace that brings us to the point to know we need Him and to put our trust in Him. By God's grace we can obey. If we really trust God, even if we do not understand, we will do what the Lord tells us. We must not think we are smarter than God and that we need to give God advice. Instead we need to trust Him and listen to what He tells us.

God does not like it when people complain about His provision. We need to give God thanks in all circumstances. We need to not only be forgiven, but we need God to change us.
