The Blessings of Companionship
Series Lessons from Acts
Although not what Scripture advises it is possible to survive alone. It is however far better to have regular fellowship and be part of a local church.
The church is like a body, different parts yet united together in Christ by the common experience of conversion.
We are able to support and encourage each other. Indeed we add something to each other by being together. Together we are like a family, with all the benefits that brings.
We must avoid cliques and gossiping, which are damaging to the life of the body.
We can make the most of our companionship by being personable, hospitable, approachable and by being ready to contribute to the life of the church.
Love can grow when we pray for each other, cementing the life of the local church and finding great benefit from our Christian companionship.
