Secure In Sonship

Following his baptism, Jesus is led into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil. The writer of Hebrews tells us that because Jesus suffered and resisted the temptations of the evil one, he is able to help us when we are tempted. Furthermore, by not taking any "short-cut" to the glory offered him by the devil, relying instead upon the promises of his Father, Jesus not only secured his inheritance from the Father, he has secured ours with him.
