[11/22/2020 AM] - "The Touching Result" - Mark 1:40-45

In the morning we will continue in Mark, finishing up chapter 1 (do you know how many sermons it took us to get through chapter 1 :-) Having dropped in that bit of humor I would quickly add that each text is very important and every Word of Scripture "weighs a ton" (John Calvin). So Mark 1.40-45 will show to us the significance of His touch, and the ministry of His humiliation. Come or watch / listen online!

Theme: The Lord cleanses a leper, accepting the temporary humiliation His act brings

1. Phase #1: The cleansing, vv.40, 42
   a. The leper comes in the proper position

b. The Lord acts with emphatic purpose

2. Phase #2: The commands, vv. 43-45a
   a. The Lord gives two stern commands

b. The no-longer-leper lauds the Lord

3. Phase #3: The conclusions, v.45b, c
   a. The Lord is temporarily excluded

b. Still the people swarm Him for help
