Mt. Olives, The Mountain of Sorrows_12PT2 The Mount of Olives is mentioned some twelve times in the New Testament, but only twice by name in the Old testament (2 Sam. 15:30; Zech. 14:4). There are, however, other references to it there, where it is described as "the mountain which is on the east side of the city" (Ezek. 11:23), and "the hill that is before Jerusalem" (1 Kings 11:7). There are Mountains in the Bible that teach us a Lesson about Sorrows. As Jesus approached Jerusalem, He began to weep. He was grieved and wept over the skepticism and unbelief of the Pharisees and also the destruction that was coming to Jerusalem in the near future. You may be suffering right now in your life. One lesson we can all learn from Jesus here is to be yielded and surrendered to God's will for our lives. We will be talking about the meaning and Location of Golgotha. Changes to the different Temples over the years. Lessons about the Concerns of Sorrow.1. The Sorrow of Skepticism and Shattering Destruction in the Future Luke 19:37-44 2. The Sorrow of Suffering to Come Matthew 26:36-46 3. The Sorrow over the Slaughter of the Savior's Cross John 19:17-18 4. The Sorrow over the Separation from Jesus Acts 1:11 5. The Splendor of the Mount of Olives Ezekiel 11:23 Wicked men crucified the Lord of glory (1 Cor. 2:8), but He arose again and ascended back to heaven from Bethany (Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9-12) which is on the eastern slope of Mount Olivet. One day Jesus will return to the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:4) to deliver His people and establish His kingdom. Even so come Lord Jesus!
