Learn from one who nearly lost his faith.
I.My faith now: God is good (1)
II.My Faith Was in crisis (2–14)
Near apostasy through two temptations to unbelief:

1. Envy of wicked people apparently prospering
2. The seeming uselessness of piety
   III.My Crisis Was unhelpful (15, 16)

• Not helpful to others
• Not helpful to me
  IV.My crisis was overcome (17–20)
• By divine revelation
• By remembering Judgment Day

  V.my crisis exposed my need of faith (21, 22)
• Without faith I was miserable
• Without faith I was stupid and ignorant
  VI.God is my savior in and from crisis (23–26)
• God saved me in crisis
• God saved me from crisis
• God is my ultimate desire and sufficient portion
  VII.Call for decision (27)
• The plight of the wicked
• The pleasure of the one who trusts in the Lord God.
• These two cases challenge us to trust in God also
