Salvation comes by complete faith in Christ alone. The keeping of the law, doing good works or deeds will not justify anyone. The law points to the fact that we have violated God’s law and that we are unable to perfectly keep it. Having been justified by faith in the finished work of Christ sets us free from the legalities of the law and dead to these that have no power to save or give life.
