Main Message of the Book of Psalms: When struggles persist and God seems far off, go back to basics and maintain focus on God’s heavenly King.

Book 1. God’s King sits enthroned (Psalms 1-41).
Book 2. Therefore, God’s plan seems to move ahead (Psalms 42-72).
Book 3. But struggles continue and God seems far off (Psalms 73-89).
Book 4. When God seems far off, go back to basics (Psalms 90-106).
Book 5. And maintain focus on God’s heavenly King (Psalms 107-150).
