God's Indictment of Israel's Worthless Idolatry

God had entered into a covenant with national Israel whereby Israel was obligated to be faithful to Jehovah by serving only Him. However, Israel would be guilty of spiritual adultery by worshipping the Canaanite deities which would anger God. Israel was guilty of pluralism (the worship of gods beside Jehovah). The United States has its own form of pluralism that God hates which will bring judgment to us unless we repent.
