My Two Sons

Aim: To appreciate all the benefits that the church of Christ is to enjoy.

Exegesis: God's true children are miracles. We are miraculously delivered from death (v. 21) and born into the church family (vv. 22-23). God's true children are liberated. We are freed from bondage to works (vv. 24-25) and to sin (vv. 26-27). God's true children are spiritual. Spiritual people are made that way by God (v. 28); are assaulted by unbelievers (v. 29); and are sustained by God's grace (vv. 30-31).

Key verse: v. 22 ''For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman.''
