Strive

Paul said that our salvation by grace and not of works (Ephesians 2:8-9) and that if it is of works it is not of grace (Romans 11:6). In Luke 13:24 Jesus admonishes us to "strive" (agonizomai). All such striving is WORKING. It follows that we must interpret the Lord's words to have respect to DISCIPLESHIP (personal obedience) and not to SONSHIP (eternal salvation) else we will end up wrongly dividing the word of God by making WORKS a requirement for eternal life.
