Life and Ministry 13

100

This couple came for counselling because their marriage was falling apart. The woman had been advised by her doctor to come for counselling because she was developing an ulcer; he believed it had something to do with the stresses she was facing in her marriage. When the counsellor asked the woman what was bothering her, she plopped a notebook down on the desk, with page after page filled with things her husband had done wrong for the last thirteen years. That woman had done the very thing God says we shouldn't do. She had literally kept a record of the real or imagined wrongs she had suffered. It was ruining her health, and disposition, and her marriage, and her relationship with the Lord, and her usefulness in life.

This is the most brilliant series of sermons on 1 Corinthians 13 I have ever heard. This series is marked by outstanding exegesis, unmatched application and penetrating conviction. God's standard for life and ministry in this chapter is so high that it cannot be matched except by God's empowering grace in the hearts of His people. You will find this series so riveting and engaging that you will want to listen to it again and also pass it on to others.
