Propitiation and Discipleship

Embed
73

Propitiation is the total satisfaction of God and it assures the freedom we experience in Christ as His disciples. Rather than a life lived out seeking to offer to God atoning sacrifices of spiritual disciplines the Disciple instead is free to love and worship God through his obedience. Rather than living the Christian life looking over ones shoulders wondering what bad thing will happen when we inevitable fail as disciples the doctrine of Propitiation assures the Disciple that God' love for Him is unconditional, allowing him to serve Christ as a Disciple through love and not through fear. For the Disciple, nothing we do will make God love us more and nothing we do will make God love us less, rather we “do” discipleship as an expression of our love and devotion to God.
