The Provision

The first "gift" of the Spirit to the church...what was it? The foundation upon which each and every church must stand. The Word of God (the whole teaching of Jesus the Christ) spoken by the Apostles; the Word of God (the illumination of the Christian Message) written down by the Prophets; the Word of God (preaching the Gospel that changes lives) applied by the work of the Evangelist; and the Word of God (ministering the Truth for the Believer's edification) lovingly fed by the Shepherds / Pastor-Teachers. This is the FOUNDATION of the church.
