1 Timothy 3 Part 9: The Mystery of Godliness

189 ( 142 | 47 )

A message commonly known, from /homolegeo/ "to say the same thing". "To say the same thing" is to be of one mind and of one conviction, to have one central and core anthem we sing, and to have a truth to wrap ourselves around."To say the same thing" as a church body is means to speak from the company of our hearts one statement of faith, to be of one creed, one doctrine, one persuasion, one fellowship, one family…
When we say common, we mean this is a message we share in, we have this truth in common with one another. What it does not mean is that the content of this message is of an average or common subject matter. The subjects addressed in this message are weighty subjects for anyone of any nation to consider. The subjects are not superficial or merely presumed to be of importance but speak to the highest levels of our existence and the greatest wonders of human capacity, irrespective of culture. There is nothing trivial or of a matter of indifference in this holy faith.
Despite Ephesian speculations, imaginations, fanciful interpretations, boasting secret knowledge, secret insights, and mystical sources, Paul shuts out and shut's down the circus with one bomb blast of obvious truth, What bigger cosmic mystery is out there, beyond God Himself? In Christ, God was revealed to us, the exact image of his nature, the perfect testimony of the unseeable and the unknownable. What secret insight then in all these genealogies, secret wisdoms, and bravado are you blabbering on about Hymeneus and Alexander? The Church was long since built on greater and weightier mysteries than that nonsense. Return to the glorious foundation of The Gospel or perish.
